Product Availability
If a product is visible on our website, it’s available to purchase unless ‘Out of Stock’ is displayed in the product description. In the rare event that a product you’ve purchased is ‘In Stock’ but not available; we’ll contact you before we ship your order and invite you to choose between a replacement product of the same value, or a refund.
Product Descriptions Explained
Every product has a main heading and images to help describe it. We also apply our own quality rankings to product condition. These are detailed below.
Every product has a ‘Description’ and ‘Additional Information’ tab. The first includes body measurements for clothes, and content summaries for books. The second, provides a list of product attributes including size and colour for clothes; and genre and subject for books.
Product attributes are linked to all products, forming the basis of our shop filters. Filters will help you broaden or narrow your search, and are located in the left margin of any shop page.
Clothes Quality Rankings
- New Old Stock (NOS) – Aged. Unused. Perfect condition.
- New With Tags (NWT) – New unused with manufacturer’s or retailer’s tags attached.
- New Without Tags (NWOT) – New unused with manufacturer’s or retailer’s tags absent.
- Excellent Used Condition (EUC) – New condition with no holes, tears, stains, fading, pilling or pulled threads (picks).
- Good Used Condition (GUC) – No holes, tears or stains, but may have peg marks, wash-fade, pilling or picks.
Imperfect Used Condition (IUC) – Laundered with plenty of life remaining, but may be repaired, still have stains, peg marks, wash-fade, pilling, or picks.
Footwear Quality Rankings
- New Old Stock (NOS) – Aged. Unused. Perfect condition.
- New With Tags (NWT) – New unused with manufacturer’s or retailer’s tags attached.
- New Without Tags (NWOT) – New unused with manufacturer’s or retailer’s tags absent.
- Excellent Used Condition (EUC) – No signs of damage or discolouration to the upper, with minimal or no sole wear.
- Good Used Condition (GUC) – The upper may be bruised, scored, scuffed or discoloured, with plenty of sole life remaining.
Book Quality Rankings
- New Old Stock (NOS) – Aged. Unused. Perfect condition.
- Excellent Used Condition (EUC) – New condition overall with little use. May have a dog ear or two, an inscription inside the front cover or flyleaf, or may have minor spine creasing.
- Good Used Condition (GUC) – Greater use. May have repairs, dog ears, margin notes, cover wear or a creased spine. May be inscribed or ex-library stock.
